Well some folks have managed to root the device to manufacture it run apps that it shouldn’t be running in the first place. But hey, this is Android after all, so it doesn’t come as a big surprise.

Judging from the demonstration video, playing games or running the OS on the reader might be a bit jerky and way off the mark for what you hope you’d experience with an Android tablet, but in what it lacks, it makes up for in battery life and outdoor visibility. Let’s not forget its highly competitive price tag as well.

Hit the break to watch a video demonstration of the NOOK The Simple Touch Reader running Angry Birds.

Due to the delay of NVIDIA Tegra 2-LTE devices arriving on the market, a lot of rumors have been floating around suggesting that Tegra 2 SoCs has problems working together with Verizon’s 4G LTE network. Well it looks like NVIDIA got tired of all the speculations and has made a statement to quash all rumors. Speaking on the phone with Droid-Life NVIDIA said:

Tegra has no compatibility issues with LTE at all. The Tegra-powered Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 4G LTE tablet runs on Verizon’s LTE network and is a perfect example of Tegra working fine w/ 4G LTE. Tegra 2 interfaces with many types of modems via standard interfaces, including LTE. There is nothing inherently strange about LTE as far as Tegra 2 is concerned.

So now that we know there’s no issue within Tegra 2 and LTE, the delay of devices 4G dual-core devices will have to be attributed to something else. I guess we’ll find out when the duration comes around, but for now you have one issue less to distress about.

Now we all know that laptop computers can be used on our laps (hence the name laptop), but most of the instance, they end up being too hot to keep on our laps for extended periods of instance. In this case, folks usually use pillows or clothes to prevent their laps from heating up with the laptop. But this usually makes using the laptop uncomfortable, particularly since soft surfaces can be pretty unstable.

Who says you need fancy displays or glasses to experience 3D substance on your tablets these days? Well, whether you own an iPad, that’s not the case anymore. NXP software has just launched the 2nd generation CineXPlayer that allows iPad users to enjoy the 3D movie experience, glasses-free. The catch? You’ll need to stick some GRilli3D overlay film on the screen of your tablet. Which sounds like a small price to pay for the effect you get. But whether you don’t want to stick anything on your iPad’s screen, you can resort to wearing anaglyph (red/blue) glasses.

Users won’t even need to look for 3D substance – CineXPlayer R2 can do the 2D-to-3D conversion on the fly for you to get the 3D effect on all the regular 2D composition you already own. The app plus allows users to post a screen grab of their favorite scenes directly on Facebook, to share with their friends what they’re watching – without having to leave the app or interrupt the movie.

CineXPlayer R2 is available for the iPad now from the Apple App Store, and it’ll set you back $2.99 for the app and an additional $1.99 in-app purchase for the 3D feature.

The Sony NEX-C3 was leaked in photographs prematurely by a month ago, along with its user manual as well. Today, the camera has finally been given its official inauguration and according to Sony, the NEX-C3 will be the world’s smallest, lightest, interchangeable lens camera.

The camera weighs in at only 225g, nearly 6% lighter than its predecessor, the NEX-3. It has a new body design that pairs a solid metal top casing with an easy-to-use streamlined grip shape. The rear of the camera packs a 3″ LCD that lets you compose and preview the effect of your settings even in bright sunlight.
