Just before you jump up in joy thinking that your favorite video game company has released tablet versions of the Wii, get a nice lounge chair and relax. The WiiPad you take in of today hails from China, and has nothing to do with Nintendo at all. First off, we have the WiiPad Slim which is a 7″ Android-powered tablet which will retail for $155, sporting 128MB RAM, 2GB of solid state storage, a couple of USB 2.0 ports, Wi-Fi connectivity and an SD memory card reader just in case (and certain enough) there isn’t decent memory for you to play with. Too poor it runs on Android 1.5 with no word on an
updated operating system being offered down the road, making you think twice before picking it up. We think you’re better off with the 10.2″ WiiPad Neno, as it runs off a decent 1GHz ARM Cortex A8-based processor, carrying 256MB RAM, 2GB of storage, Wi-Fi connectivity, a trio of USB 2.0 ports, an SD memory card slot, full HD video playback support and Android 2.1.
